The month of July is the time to be in Costa Rica to enjoy the music and dance of the Costa Rican people in the annual event known as Mango’s Festival. This fun-filled festival takes place in Alajuela.

Major events in Costa Rica include Easter week, when the country nearly shuts down for celebrations. Many towns often celebrate their respective saints’ day. The Virgin of Los Angeles Day (the patron saint of Costa Rica) is August 2. Columbus Day on October 12 is also a national holiday.
