This Mexican beach villa is the perfect relaxing getaway, expanded to fit your family and friends, and make the most wonderful site surrounded by hot pink bougainvillea on a long sandy beach just north of the twin resort towns Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo in Guerrero, Mexico.

After a 30-minute drive up the coast road from town, it's a joy to arrive at the glorious entry to this Mexican beach villa called "La Meta" (which means "goal" or finish in Spanish), a modest wooden gate defined by an arch of bougainvillea that opens onto a cobbled entrance courtyard. A path that leads to the main two-storeyed house with faded pink orange adobe walls and roof of palm thatch.

To the left of the entry, the organic curve of the adobe staircase leads to an open upstairs mezzanine area where a collection of vividly colored Mexican hammocks hang. The master bedroom lies before a magnificent studio with an open room that looks out into the ocean. To one side a small balcony has a view through the palm trees across the picturesque thatched roofs of the neighboring houses.

The main floor of this Mexican beach villa unfolds behind a sculptural screen; the living and dining rooms with their high ceilings are completely open to the breezes. The blue Pacific Ocean suddenly appears, seemingly kept at a distance by a long blue and white swimming pool which thrusts out towards the bay, its view framed by a tall trellis of logs and a hanging swing.

An art wall behind the rough-cut granite dining table provides an ideal place to enjoy your meals.

Much of the furniture is built into the architecture on this Mexican beach villa. Organic continuations of the walls form bed bases, benches, side tables and even bathtubs. With the addition of cushions, benches and small wooden tables the house is complete.
