Los Cabos
The best time and place to enjoy Mexico’s array of music
and dance is at fiestas, which happen often. Two significant
events include the holiday of Cinco De Mayo, The Fifth Of
May, which commemorates the victory of the Mexicans over the
French army at The Battle of Puebla in 1862. In November,
Mexicans celebrate the “Day of the Dead,” a festival
celebrated around the country.
Puerta Vallarta
September is a great month for culture in Puerta Vallarta. Charro Day and Independence Day both fall during this month. Charro Day is a Mexican themed rodeo event where horsemen/women parade through the town wearing ornate jackets and matching sombreros while riding perfectly groomed horses. Festivities include shows and dancing and continue through the evening. Independence Day brings crowds to the central plaza to enjoy food stands, music, and folkloric dancing. In November, Puerta Vallarta hosts a very popular Arts Festival with month long gallery exhibitions and local performances.
